The famous Rockets Rivonia has transformed into a non-profit restaurant called “Fuel for Rhinos” which will give all proceeds to Rhino Conservation!

The first Rockets restaurant opened it’s doors for business in 2007. Rockets Rivonia became a local favourite with it’s loyal following of trendy patrons. The Rockets group then opened their flagship restaurant in the popular 4th Ave of Parkhurst during 2012, while adding Express stores in both Sandton and Melrose Arch.

October 2016 has seen a huge change for the restaurant group as the original Rockets Rivonia restaurant is moving to Bryanston, and the group have decided to donate the entire Rivonia restaurant to Rhino Salvation, with all proceeds from the establishment being donated to the Honorary Rangers Foundation.

In essence, Rockets Rivonia has transformed into a completely non-profit restaurant called “Fuel for Rhinos” which gives all proceeds to the Honorary Rangers Foundation.

“At Rockets we believe in using our power to protect – that’s why we are converting the original Rockets in Rivonia into a non-profit organisation. The shop is called Fuel for Rhinos and all profits are donated to Rhino salvation!”

Although much has changed since it’s inception, this venue still carries a charming atmosphere as there is something very special about it being the first “Rockets Restaurant” and now the first “Fuel for Rhinos” too.

A beautiful sculpture of a Rhino has also moved into the new restaurant showcasing the “Fuel for Rhinos” concept which creates a world first opportunity for people to help save the rhinos, simply by spending money at a restaurant.

“At Rockets we do our part to help out where we can, whenever we can. We believe that we only get one shot to make our mark – afterall, you only get one life and we only have one earth.”

Eat, drink, be merry and create memories in the knowledge that all proceeds from the restaurant initiative are going to be used in the war against rhino poaching.
