31-year-old Chané Coetzee was diagnosed with a rare form of lung cancer and it has taken its toll; her community have united to support her financial needs as she focuses on her fight.

Krugersdorp, South Africa (25 July 2024) – Chané Coetzee was diagnosed with Lymphoepithelial Carcinoma of the Lung in November 2023. It is a rare form of cancer that has only been diagnosed twice before in South Africa, so far as Chané’s doctors can confirm.

Chané shared that since her diagnosis, the rising medical bills have been just as great a battle – this is due to her extensive stays in the hospital. It has been thanks to the kindness of others that many have been paid so far. A BackaBuddy fund has raised a substantial amount to date. But its a new community effort that has left Chané in awe of their support.

“Some wonderful members of the community have come together to arrange a fundraiser drive for me in the form of an event called The Breath of Hope Fest which will be taking place on the 24th of August 2024 at the KHOSA Sports Club in Krugersdorp.

We will have live musos, a market, kiddies entertainment and fun for the whole family!” – Chané Coetzee

The Breath of Hope Fest is a fun day out for the whole family, all the while creating a meaningful way for the community to support Chané and her rising medical bills.

“Every ticket sold directly funds Chané’s cancer treatment, turning your day of fun into a powerful force for good.”

Chané shares updates about her cancer battle on her Facebook page here. You can follow along and offer your support and words of encouragement.
