The Pedal Project’s Dream Bike Raffle is a unique opportunity to win a custom e-bike while investing in the future of young people who need it most.
Western Cape, South Africa, (03 September 2024) – The Pedal Project is a heartwarming initiative that uses mountain biking to provide therapeutic support and a healthy outlet for at-risk youth in South Africa.
PedalForGood is a transformative youth development program that uses mountain biking as a tool for engaging with at-risk youth and providing essential community-based mental health services.
Through their weekly Trail Therapy program, they offer essential mental health counselling and outdoor activities to 120 children from Macassar and Stand.
To fund their ongoing efforts and expand their reach, the Pedal Project is hosting a Dream Bike Raffle.
This exciting event allows participants to win a custom-designed e-bike while contributing to a noble cause. Each raffle ticket purchased helps support the project’s mission to empower and uplift youth in need.
“For the 2024 SA Dreambikeraffle, we are proud to partner with local bike heroes for Heritage Month and will be built on the Outer Cycles, who will contribute their newly launched Link e-bike to the cause,” Pedal Project founder Jaco van der Linde said.
Van der Linde explained that the unique e-bike, designed for trail enthusiasts and adventurers, has been personalised by famed designer and pop artist Johan Johnston of Hasie and the Robots.
The bike, which boasts locally crafted carbon wheels, has already been named Silwane, which means beast in Fanakalo. This pays homage to the South African land, showcasing a distinct and visually striking aesthetic.
