Partnering with the incredible Kloof and Highway SPCA, the Robin Hood Foundation generously donated R100,000 to fund a massive three-day animal sterilisation drive, stopping thousands of unwanted litters in rural areas.

Kloof, South Africa (17 July 2025) – The Robin Hood Foundation (RHF) is spreading goodness all around as part of its 20th birthday celebrations, and this week, that goodness is the heartwarming picture of over a hundred happy wagging tails!

RHF proudly donated R100,000 to support a massive animal sterilisation drive in partnership with the incredible team at the Kloof and Highway SPCA.

“We were honoured to visit the outreach site and witness the compassionate, efficient process in action – from intake and preparation to surgery and recovery,” RHF said.

The sterilisation is running over the course of three days, with hopes to sterilise over 150 cats and dogs in rural areas where over-breeding remains a serious issue.

“Inspectors collect the animals in areas that are far away and return them once they are awake and ready.”

For both the RHF and the SPCA, this isn’t just a campaign, it’s prevention in action.

“By stopping thousands of unwanted litters, we’re helping reduce neglect, hunger, and cruelty in areas where resources are scarce and animals suffer most,” RHF explains.

Volunteers were especially touched to see numerous responsible pet owners lining up with their furry companions, ready to do the right thing. Every dog owner also received a 5kg bag of maize meal, sponsored by RHF, and the kids walked away beaming, each choosing from generously donated toys.

“Together, we are being part of the solution – one sterilisation, one act of kindness, one family at a time,” RHF.

Here’s to saving lives and building healthier communities! Happy birthday RHF!
