Five incredibly talented Muizenberg High School accounting students impressed judges with their strategic thinking and smart decision-making, winning a massive cash prize for their school!

Muizenberg, South Africa (27 August 2025) – In an incredible showcase that skills learned in the classroom can open doors to real-world success, five accounting students of Muizenberg High School flexed their strategic and numerical ingenuity at a recently held investor challenge!

The challenge is a national competition that tests learners’ ability to analyse the stock market, draw up portfolios for top brand companies, and take calculated risks, just like real investors. Armed with R1 million in virtual capital, learners had to navigate fictional scenarios designed to test their instincts, their planning, and their ability to stay cool under pressure – and the Muizenberg all-girl team did not disappoint!

The school shared the good news on its socials, expressing its immense pride in its accounting boffins who not only impressed the judging panel with their brilliant decision-making but also excelled, walking away with a cash prize of R20,000!

“We are proud to announce that our team not only excelled in this challenge, but they also brought home an incredible win for Muizenberg High School. Their hard work, dedication, and brilliant decision-making earned our school a prize of R20 000,” Muizenberg High School shared in a post.

Special recognition was also extended to the students’ dedicated accounting teacher for playing a key role in setting them up for success.

“Behind every success story, there is guidance and support, and we would like to give special recognition to Mr. Lange, their accounting educator, who walked this journey with them. His encouragement, expertise, and commitment played a huge role in helping these learners reach this remarkable achievement.”

These dedicated and talented students not only showed up; they thrived and, alongside their teacher, have demonstrated that with focus and determination, anything is achievable. As Muizenberg High puts it:

“This victory is more than just about money. It shows what happens when talent, teamwork, and great mentorship come together.

“To our accounting champions, and to Mr Lange, well done! We are proud of you, and we celebrate this victory with you!”
