For Heritage Day, Miss South Africa’s finalists got a chance to showcase their creativity by painting their heritage.
South Africa (25 September 2025) – Nine ladies gathered for an arts and crafts session to celebrate Heritage Day, ending the get-together with nine colourful t-shirts that represent South Africa’s rainbow nation!
Some honoured their cultural roots, others celebrated the broader picture of unity in South Africa. Take a look at each finalist’s designs below:
The ladies were also asked what makes them proud about their heritage, their answers reflected what we as South Africans know how to do well…
We come together regardless of culture, we rally in community, we spread kindness, we embrace confidence, we celebrate each other, and of course, we braai!
And what screams proudly South African? The finalists had their own ideas. We saw biltong, koeksisters, milktart, pap and wors, amasi, kotas, and skopas in the mix – clearly we’re a nation of proud eaters. We spotted a rhino and a rugby field too, also synonymous with SA.
Sometimes, the best way to show character is by celebrating what makes you proud. It’s been fun getting to know the ladies by discovering more about their culture and in turn, their values. The two will always be intertwined.
The Miss South Africa finale will be taking place this coming month on 25 October at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria. The pageant will see one finalist take the crown from reigning queen Mia le Roux, who in August this year celebrated twelve months of wearing the diamond crown.
