Zoomies are universal. Dogs get them. Cats get them. Even baby horses do. Look away if you don’t want a huge dose of cuteness.

Gauteng, South Africa (04 December 2025) – The Highveld Horse Care Unit (HHCU) in Gauteng recently shared the sweetest video of a resident 18-day-old foal loving life after the hectic rain that Gauteng has seen.

Now that the showers have indefinitely stopped, the foal, along with mom, enjoyed some time out on the paddock.

It came with serious zoomies and hops that even bunnies would envy!

A dose of wholesome from the HCCU, one of SA’s largest equine welfare organisations, is involved in all matters related to equine welfare. They’ve been at it for more than 30 years.

The work spans outreach to rescue, care and rehoming of horses.

The HCCU works with cart horse owners and communities throughout Gauteng to ensure that horses have a good life. They also care for nearly 8000 needy horses and donkeys stabled at their base annually. Beyond Gauteng, they provide outreach clinics in several surrounding provinces and underprivileged communities.

If you’d like to support the work the organisation does, it has just released a calendar for next year! It makes a great stocking filler for horse-lovers!
