Thanks to overwhelming community support, the Soweto Animal Rescue and Advisory Centre (SARAC) was able to celebrate and shower its dedicated young volunteers in a magical Rangers Party.
Westonaria, South Africa (08 December 2025) – When the Soweto Animals Rescue and Advisory Centre (SARAC) asked for help to make this year’s Rangers Party one to remember, the community answered – generously so!
The animal welfare organisation wanted to take an intentional moment to thank its youngest volunteers, dubbed the “rangers”, for dedicating their afternoons after school and free time to help with all the rescue animals still awaiting their forever homes.
After numerous appeals for sponsors and support, SARAC was able to put together a beautiful event on Saturday, 6 December, which proved to be a delight for all.
The Rangers were treated to delicious meals, treats and fun activities, with the top five each receiving brand new, generously donated laptops.
Most of the Rangers, many of whom are still in school, also received meaningful gifts like uniforms, stationery and clothes from their sponsors to set them up for the year ahead, strengthening the spirit of the amazing Rangers family.
These weren’t just practical items; they evidence that these youngsters’ late afternoons spent cleaning kennels, feeding rescued animals, and offering comfort to creatures in need had been witnessed and cherished.
“It was indeed a huge celebration with the guest speakers inspiring the kids, face painters and magicians also came to the party. We at SARAC are immensely overwhelmed with all the love and support from all our local supporters, who never disappoint,” SARAC said.
