From reading challenges, coding and cookie making at libraries to sports, indoor games and recreational activities at community facilities, there’s something for everyone. These programmes will give children and young people constructive, safe ways to spend their school break, put down the screens and beat the winter boredom, while making use of City facilities close to home.

The City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Community Services and Health, Councillor Francine Higham, said this winter holiday can be an opportunity to find a new hobby, have fun or learn a new skill.

“Our libraries and recreation facilities are offering activities that keep young people active during the school break. I encourage parents and caregivers to look at the programme closest to them and help young people make the most of the holidays.”

Parents and caregivers are encouraged to explore the holiday programme nearest to them and help young people make the most of the winter holidays. The full list of holiday programmes can be viewed on the City’s website. Alternatively, you can contact your nearest public library or recreation facility for more information.
