Canada and South Africa Set for Historic World Cup Knockout Clash

History will be made in Los Angeles as Canada and South Africa meet in the FIFA World Cup Round of 32, with both nations contesting their first-ever knockout match at this level.

The two sides have only met once before, a 2-0 South African win in a friendly back in 2007, making this their first competitive meeting on the world stage.

With a place in the Round of 16 in Houston on the line, both teams will be aiming to take a major step forward in their World Cup journey.

Proteas Women Keep Semi-Final Hopes Alive

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup group stage is heading for a dramatic finish, with qualification for the semi-finals set to be decided on the final day. South Africa delivered a strong performance against the Netherlands, cruising to an 88-run victory after an all-round display that put them firmly back in the mix.

The Proteas now turn their attention to a crucial final group match against Bangladesh on Sunday. A win is essential to keep their semi-final hopes alive.

Junior Springboks Kick Off World Championship Defence

The Junior Springboks begin their World Rugby U20 Championship title defence in Tbilisi, Georgia, where they open their Pool A campaign against Uruguay on Saturday.

South Africa enter the tournament as defending champions after lifting the world title in Italy last year, their first win since 2012 and will be aiming to start strongly as they chase back-to-back glory.

South Africa’s Junior Chess Stars Competing on World Stage in Italy

South Africa’s junior chess team is representing the country at the FIDE World Youth Chess Championships in Montesilvano, Italy, one of the strongest youth competitions in the world.

The tournament features more than 750 players from 83 countries, with South African youngsters competing against some of the best emerging talent globally.

It’s a packed weekend of international action for South Africans across the board.
