With funds running critically low, the organisation hopes the community will rally behind its mission to care for rescued horses and support vulnerable people through equine therapy.

Cape Town, South Africa (03 July 2026) – An organisation that rescues horses while providing therapeutic support to vulnerable children and adults is appealing to the public for help as it faces mounting financial pressure.

Tom Ro Haven says it urgently needs support to continue caring for rescued horses and running programmes that have become a source of healing and hope for many people.

The organisation provides food, shelter and veterinary care for the horses in its care, while also using the animals to support children and adults through equine-assisted programmes. However, dwindling funds are making it increasingly difficult to sustain both its rescue efforts and community outreach initiatives.

Tom Ro Haven is encouraging members of the public to contribute in whatever way they can, reminding supporters that even small donations can make a meaningful difference when combined with the generosity of others.

The organisation is also inviting those who are able to consider becoming monthly donors, saying consistent support helps ensure the long-term sustainability of its rescue work and therapy programmes.

Those wishing to support Tom Ro Haven can make a donation using the details below:

  • Bank: Standard Bank
  • Account number: 332 772 136
  • Branch code: 051 001
  • Reference: Haven Help

Alternatively, donations can be made via the organisation’s website here.
