Global (14 August 2026)- From a historic Springbok Women’s tour and a huge Bulls-All Blacks clash to a Betway Premiership heavyweight battle and a sea of pink for Women’s Month, there’s plenty to keep South African sports fans busy this weekend.
Springbok Women Go Again in Fiji
The Springbok Women are back in action against Fijiana XV on Saturday, with captain Babalwa Latsha returning to lead the side in the second Test in Lautoka. South Africa will be looking to build on their impressive 55-12 victory in the opening match last weekend.
There will also be a special moment for Maria Tshiremba, who is set to make her Test debut on the wing. The Bok Women have already made history on this tour.
The Bulls Take on the All Blacks at Loftus
Now, this is a big one.
The Vodacom Bulls welcome the All Blacks to Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Saturday for another chapter in rugby’s greatest rivalry.
The Bulls have packed plenty of experience into their squad, including four capped Springboks and the returning Hanro Liebenberg. There’s also plenty of excitement around Curwin Bosch, who returns to South African rugby after two years in France.
With Loftus behind them, the Bulls will be hoping home advantage can help them pull off a memorable upset.
Kaizer Chiefs vs Mamelodi Sundowns
If football is more your thing, there’s a heavyweight clash waiting for you.
Kaizer Chiefs host Mamelodi Sundowns at FNB Stadium on Saturday.
And then there’s Orlando Pirates, who will be looking to get their campaign back on track when they face Chippa United. So, yes, there’s plenty happening on the local football front.

And because August is all about celebrating women, thousands of runners and walkers will be taking to the streets for the Totalsports Women’s Race.
More than 28 000 participants are expected to take part across Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban this month, turning the cities into a sea of pink while celebrating Women’s Month.
The Johannesburg leg takes place on Sunday at Marks Park Sports Club in Emmarentia, bringing together women of all ages and backgrounds for more than just a run.
So whether you’re watching from the couch, heading to Loftus, following the football or lacing up your own running shoes, there’s no shortage of sport to get excited about this weekend.
SA Hockey Men World Cup campaign
The South African men’s hockey team are ready to take their place on the world stage as they begin their 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup campaign in Wavre, Belgium, this weekend.
Their first challenge comes on Sunday, 16 August, when South Africa face Spain at 14:30 in their opening Pool C fixture.
It’s the start of another big chapter for the SA Hockey Men, who will be making their eighth appearance at the FIH Hockey World Cup.
