The Santa Shoebox team are getting ahead of the kindness this year, packing 6000 virtual boxes before pledges for 2026 even open.

South Africa (16 August 2026) – We are just weeks away from the 2026 Santa Shoebox pledge day, where thousands of South Africans will pledge to give a child a joyful festive season in the form of a fully loaded shoebox of goodies picked out just for them.

For those who love the concept but can’t put together a box because of scheduling or living overseas, the virtual box is a total win! It ensures that children still get a carefully packed box of goodies from you.

The Santa Shoebox team recently put together 6000 virtual boxes, with the support of donors and corporate sponsors. These boxes will go a long way to filling any gaps.

“Inside every box are eight carefully chosen items: a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, a washcloth, school supplies, clothing, sweets and a toy.

Eight simple things, packed together to create one very special moment for a child.”

Virtual boxes are R500 each. You can pledge one here. You can still select age and gender for your virtual box,

If you are keen to be more hands-on, pledges open in September, so you can start getting ready by purchasing some of the easy essentials like soap, toothpaste, a toothbrush, school supplies and so on. Then once you get your pledge next month, pick up the more personalised items.

We are so ready to see all the happy faces in 2026!
