The two-day outreach in Ntha, Lindley saw hundreds of animals receive vaccinations, parasite treatments and veterinary care, with the team using every last dose they had brought along.

Fouriesburg, South Africa (18 August 2026) – What was expected to be a busy weekend for the Cluny Animal Trust turned into its largest and busiest outreach to date.

The two-day initiative in Ntha, Lindley, brought an overwhelming demand for veterinary care.

By the end of the weekend, the numbers told the story. 78 animals were sterilised, 650 received vaccinations, another 650 received deworming and tick-and-flea treatments, and four animals were treated for illnesses and wounds. Around 150kg of food and 270 dog collars were also distributed to local families.

But behind those impressive figures were long days, tired volunteers and a team determined to keep going for every animal that needed help.

Cluny Animal Trust said the scale of the demand surpassed anything the organisation had experienced before.

“We have never, ever had an outreach like this one,” the Trust said, reflecting on what became a record-breaking weekend.

Dr Eunice from Platberg Dieregesondheid, Craig, Johan, Seipati, Dibuseng, Sara Ndaba, Diane, Tracey, Edgar, Madi and Nthabeleng were among those who gave their time and energy throughout the weekend.

Every sterilisation means another unwanted litter prevented. Every vaccination provides protection against disease. Every treatment gives an animal access to care that may otherwise have been out of reach.

And while the veterinary team was doing the work, the Lindley community was making sure they could keep going.

After two days of non-stop work, the team admitted they were exhausted and emotional, but incredibly proud.

And there is already another outreach on the horizon. Cluny Animal Trust’s final outreach of 2026 is planned for Kestell in September.
