Chris Nissen Primary has received 110 pairs of school shoes, shirts and trousers to help learners show up for school with confidence!
Knysna, South Africa (19 August 2026) – Chris Nissen Primary School has received a welcome delivery of 110 pairs of school shoes, 110 shirts and 110 pairs of trousers.
The items were handed over to little learners on Friday, 14 August, through a school uniform support initiative led by the Knysna Section of the Garden Route National Park.
MPM Enviro Enterprise, an independent organisation, also supported the initiative by sourcing the uniform items for the school.
Chris Nissen Primary is located less than 10 kilometres from the Knysna Lakes Section of the national park. It was identified for support through SANParks’ Socio-Economic Transformation programme, which helps facilitate projects that benefit communities living near national parks.

Having a full uniform helps learners feel a little more confident and gives them a stronger sense of belonging when they step into school for the day.
New school clothing and shoes can also be a costly expense for families living in underserved communities. With these generous donations, some of that financial pressure can now be eased.
The donation forms part of SANParks’ work to build strong relationships with the communities living alongside protected areas.
“For SANParks, conservation is closely linked to the wellbeing of people living alongside protected areas. The organisation recognises that strong relationships with neighbouring communities are essential to achieving its broader conservation mandate. Initiatives of this nature provide an opportunity to translate this commitment into practical support that makes a meaningful difference in people’s lives.” it shares.
