The school’s Term 3 collection brought together learners, teachers and families to support dogs and cats at the Cape of Good Hope SPCA.
Cape Town, South Africa (01 November 2026) – Forget textbooks for a moment! The boys at Wynberg Boys’ High School had a different kind of homework during Term 3, and it involved helping some four-legged friends.
The school collected and donated more than 230kg of pet food to the Cape of Good Hope SPCA, giving the organisation a welcome boost in its efforts to care for animals in need.
The collection brought learners, teachers and families together, with everyone playing a part in gathering food for dogs and cats at the SPCA.

For animals waiting to be adopted, every bag of food makes a difference. It helps keep them fed while they wait for a safe home, a loving family and their next chapter.
The SPCA thanked the school community for getting behind the initiative, which is a reminder that making a difference doesn’t always require a grand gesture. Sometimes, it starts with adding an extra bag of pet food to the shopping trolley.
And with more than 230kg collected, Wynberg Boys’ High School certainly gave the animals something to wag their tails about.
