SA Not Safe Video

A French couple planning a trip to South Africa was told by family and friends that it was not safe, but they visited anyway and filmed everything.

South Africa (28 August 2017) – Michel Vespasian and Pauline Bachel were in the process of planning a trip to South Africa. When friends and family heard of their plans, they tried to discourage them. The family had heard it was unsafe without a tour guide.

The couple refused to be discouraged and continued with their planning. They then decided to film the entire trip just to prove to the naysayers that South Africa is a beautiful country and safe for tourists.

“We wanted to visit South Africa so much, but was sometimes worried about the security over there. Friends and families told us that South Africa was so insecure and that we shouldn’t go to this country without a operator tour. But we decided to go anyway and visit this amazing country.”

“I also decided to record a small movie about our journey to show our friends how amazing it was. So this movie is about our journey (18 days) through South Africa, From Johannesburg to Drakensberg and also Lesotho, the Kingdom in the sky!”

Parts of South Africa are not safe; nobody could dispute this fact, but many people let the bad parts impact the reputation of the entire country. This is exactly why Michel and Pauline filmed their trip: to encourage others to see things for themselves and not to let fear rule life.
