In times of tragedy, always look for the hero… because there will always be one! Lawrence, a petrol attendant in Milnerton, Cape Town became one.
Milnerton, South Africa (22 August 2018) — Lawrence, a petrol attendant in Milnerton, Cape Town, was walking on the same busy path on the 19th of August as an elderly lady when he saw her being attacked and jumped into action!
The gang of armed thugs managed to get away with her cell phone and gold chain, which was ripped from her neck, but her life was saved by Lawrence’s heroic actions!
Glenn Trevor Skip Bradfield saw what had happened and posted the Facebook status, thanking Lawrence for his bravery.
“This is my hero for today. His name is Lawrence. He came to the assistance of this elderly lady on her walk. She was attacked by a gang of armed thugs in a blue ND registered vehicle and Lawrence seeing them fling her to the ground went to her assistance. He put his life at risk and saved her from serious injury. Thank you Lawrence you are a decent human being!”
Since the post, thousands of South Africans have shared and commented on it, inspired by Lawrence’s actions.
Vivian White commented: “A Hero Lawrence, you restored our faith in humanity. You sure are the Hero this Woman’s month. Many Blessings.”
Cilla Cinnamond added: “Thank for the good story. There are SO many good people out there.”
Garth Vaughan Weyer said: “Faith restored in the rainbow nation? Definitely.”
Jeanne-marie Odendaal posted” “It make my heart as a South African women very thankful that I see and read more and more about people helping each other.”
Bradfield tracked Lawrence down this morning (22 August 2018) to personally thank him and show him how many people he inspired. And now the two are looking for the elderly lady he helped as Lawrence is still very concerned for her well being and wanted to make sure she was okay.
