The Mosaic Association of South Africa hosted a competition to raise funds for CANSA by artfully turning bras into pieces of beautiful art.
South Africa – The Mosaic Association of South Africa (MASA) came together to raise funds for the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA).
There are more than 100,000 South Africans diagnosed with cancer every year, and the funds raised will be used to enhance the support programmes offered by CANSA’s Care Centres.
CANSA enables research with regards to lowering cancer risk, educates the public regarding symptoms, offers screening and risk reduction, and provides care and support to all people affected by cancer. The Cancer Association of South Africa’s (CANSA’s) purpose is to lead the fight against cancer in South Africa by offering a unique, integrated service to the public which involves holistic cancer care and support to all people affected by cancer.
MASA invited members and the public to join them in mosaicing bras. The bras were entered into a competition and once a winner has been selected, the bras will be auctioned off to raise further funds for the cause.
“The competition was run in aid of CANSA, every participant had to make a donation of R50 to CANSA as his/her ‘entry fee’. Our youngest participant was just 11!” – El-Maree van Zweel
