Nursing home staff dressed up as reindeer and gave their residents nerf guns to “go hunting” – the outcome is so funny we wish we could join in!
Ohio, United States of America (04 December 2020) – With the world in various stages of lockdown, nursing staff at an Ohio retirement home gave their lonely residents the funniest activity we have ever seen. They dressed up as deer and gave their residents a chance to go hunting.
The Continental Manor in Blanchester, Ohio specialises in hospice and Dementia care. With the pandemic being such a massive threat to the elderly, the home has had to be very strict about how the residents engage and interact with the outside world.
To keep everyone entertained, the nursing staff have gone above and beyond to ensure their residents never get bored or too lonely.
To make the festive season a joyous one, which would usually be a time spent with family, the nursing staff came up with a game of deer hunting.
In the recreation hall, they set up several Christmas trees to create a forest scene and then dressed up as deer. They armed the residents with nerf guns and told them to fire away!
A video of the game was shared on social media and has since gone viral! We got sent the clip and could not stop laughing! The idea is so brilliant and not only do the residents have the best time, the staff laugh non-stop throughout the entire game!
