The Johannesburg Wildlife Veterinary Hospital is feeling the pandemic pinch and needs a helping hand to keep treating our country’s indigenous wildlife.
Johannesburg, South Africa (04 May 2021) – Every non-profit has faced hardship in the last year and many were forced to close due to the lack of funds. We are seeing many organisations reaching out for a helping hand as the pandemic endures longer than anyone could have imagined.
The Johannesburg Wildlife Veterinary Hospital has not been immune to the effects of the pandemic. Throughout the lockdown, they have continued to take injured animals in despite facing a drop in funding.
The organisation has now reached a point where its funding is at an all-time low and the organisation is at risk. We have shared some of the incredible rescues that have taken place throughout the lockdown and many brought smiles of pure joy to all.
The team have taken to Facebook to ask for some financial assistance. What is a plus is that even if you are unable to donate, you can add them as a beneficiary on your MySchool card, and they receive money without it costing you anything.
There are several options including, shopping at the online store for gifts, and you can donate in mom’s name too, that is a great mother’s day gift idea if you need one. Take a look at how you can help below.
“We don’t like writing posts like this, but unfortunately, as a non-profit facility, we are struggling! Our funds are running very low at the moment and we would really appreciate some financial assistance. We always try to keep costs as low as possible, but giving our patients the care that they deserve is pricey! We rely solely on donations to keep our doors open and to pay our tiny staff compliment.
If anyone is in a position to donate to our cause, we would be sincerely grateful. We know that times are tough, and we are no exception in experiencing this, particularly as an organisation that does not receive any government funding.
We LOVE caring for, and being urban wildlife’s ‘go to’ when injured or displaced. In order to continue doing this, we’re in urgent need of ongoing support from corporate sponsors, monthly EFT donations and MySchool support.
We’re also a PUBLIC BENEFIT ORGANISATION – which means while assisting our wildlife, you benefit from tax deductions too!”
