The grade 5 class at Charterhouse School in Roodepoort celebrated 100 consecutive days at school by collecting 100 cans of food for charity.
Roodepoort, South Africa (08 July 2022) – Charterhouse School in Roodepoort celebrated 100 days of school recently and to mark the special occasion, they collected 100 cans for charity.
2022 is the first year that children have had the opportunity to have a full school experience since the start of the pandemic. With regulations making life just about normal again, we are so happy to see such joy and enthusiasm from our youth in regards to schooling.
The grade 5 class at Charterhouse School marked their 100 days by collecting 100 cans of food. However, they went above and beyond, collecting nearly double their target.
The pupils chose to support ‘Charity Begins With Me‘. The organisation was founded by Stephen Ferreira in 2016 after he was diagnosed with cancer. He started the charity because he wanted to make a difference, using the time he had.
The food cans will go a long way in supporting the charity’s many feeding schemes and food kitchens.
