A playful video of two baboons batting a rugby ball around has South African charm written all over it.
South Africa (27 October 2026) – Rugby fever seems to have reached some unexpected fans in South Africa, with two baboons spotted playing with a rugby ball in a rather adorable video shared by Friends of Pringle Bay Baboons.
In the clip, the pair can be seen interacting with the ball, batting it around and seemingly enjoying their little play session. They might not be following the rules of the game just yet, but their enthusiasm certainly makes for entertaining viewing.
Pringle Bay, the coastal village in the Western Cape, is known for its natural surroundings and local wildlife. This time, however, it is two playful baboons and their rugby ball that have stolen the show.
And while these two furry fans may not quite be ready to take to the field, the video offers a charming reminder that a rugby ball can capture attention in the most unexpected places.
Whether they were simply curious about their new toy or genuinely enjoying a game, these baboons have certainly found an entertaining way to spend some time together
