A popular bar has devised a clever concept that is going global… with secret codes to get you out of dodgy online dates when you don’t feel comfortable.

If you’ve ever been on a bad date and needed an “emergency” excuse to walk out the door, then you’ll be even more relieved by a new, helpful trend sweeping bars across the globe. Not only are waitstaff helping people flee a bad date, they also want to help keep you out of harm’s way.

Bars around the world have devised a clever concept to help people get out of ‘dodgy dates’ by using secret codes at the bar when ordering ‘drinks’.

Don’t worry… this is not a spoiler alert, the bars change the secret drinks on a regular basis so no one will ever know.

Renaldo Gouws, a DA councillor from Port Elizabeth posted the picture from a Hooters which has gone viral with over 20 000 shares.

This is what is says:

“Are you on a date that isn’t going well?”

“Is your ‘tinder’ or ‘plenty of fish’ date not who they said they were on their profile?”

“Do you feel unsafe or even just a bit weird?”

We’re here too help! Just go to the bar and order an ‘Angel Shot’.

Neat: Your bartender will escort you to your vehicle
With Ice: Your bartender will call an Uber or Left
With Lime: Your bartender will call the police

We’ll handle things discreetly, and without a lot of fuss. (We’ve been there and we want you to know that you’re in good hands)
