The Kiffness, a well known South African band have taken to social media to name and shame a massive festival that haven’t paid them…
The Kiffness, SPCA and Oppikoppi… here’s all you need to know about the combo and why it actually matters.
David Scott from The Kiffness is no stranger to calling people out on social media as we’ve previously covered the band member shaming Woolworths for their body-shaming mannequins… and we love it.
And it seems the rest of South Africa love it too! People are giving them a big high-five on social media for saying what many business owners and free-lancers wish they were able too!
The Kiffness took to social media late last night to state that they will donate half their fee to the SPCA, if Oppikoppi pay them before Christmas.
The band played at the music festival on the 6 August and it seems that the festival organizers have still not payed them… 120 days later.
The post has started to trend with some users seeing the humorous side and many adding their criticism to bad their own bad paying clients.
Kuraisha Rai Carim posted: “Hahaha Oppikoppi Festival just pay the man. He’s becoming charitable and it’s weird. JK, maybe.”
Jacques Dednam commented: “Never got my card value back. Good luck. Countless emails and phone calls, still waiting. Should boycott the event next year.”
Darren Smithson added: “Sometimes I feel like posting something like this when clients don’t pay….or pay you weeks later! Paying people late is a terrible habit!”
Oppikoppi haven’t replied as yet, but we’ll update you when they do and be sure to let you know when the SPCA receive their donation.
