The OUTsurance Pointsmen are back!!! This time to sanitise taxis during lockdown!

Retrained as sanitisation specialists, the OUTsurance Pointsmen are taking road safety to a whole new level during the COVID-19 lockdown. 

 

Johannesburg, South Africa (7 April 2020) – Monday the 6th April, marked another day of unity between the private sector and Government in collective efforts to flatten the curve.

OUTsurance (PTY) Ltd, Traffic Freeflow Tshwane (Pty) Ltd and Gauteng Public Transport and Roads will be providing the critical service of sanitising taxi’s and the ranks to ensure safer commuting of passengers.

Gauteng Transport MEC Jacob Mamabolo, says “government is grateful that the private sector has come on board to support vulnerable taxi commuters”

Danie Matthee CEO of OUTsurance said, “We are all united in our efforts to flatten the curve, so involving the OUTsurance Pointsmen makes a lot of sense to us.  It is a privilege to be able to assist in keeping commuters and the vehicles in which they travel, safe.  The health and safety of people doing essential work every day is of critical importance.”

Bheki Zondo, CEO of Traffic Freeflow Tshwane said “We at Traffic Freeflow are honoured to continue serving the community as OUTsurance Pointsmen. The commitment and passion of our staff is once again evident in their willingness to assist with as much pride and passion as they do while directing you through the traffic when not in lockdown”.

The teams will visit ranks and transport nodes across the province to prevent the spread of Covid19. Among others, the following areas will be attended to in Tshwane; Mamelodi, Tshwane CBD, Atteridgeville, Hamanskraal, Mabopani, Soshanguve, Ga-Rankuwa, Laudium, Pretoria North, and Bronkhorstspruit. Additional areas will include Ekurhuleni, Vereeniging, Sedibeng, Soweto, West Rand, Mogale City and Johannesburg City Centre.
