Kloof, South Africa (15 September 2026) – Eighteen years of showing up, leading, caring, and doing so much more than just a job. For nearly two decades, Barbara Patrick has dedicated her service to the Kloof and Highway SPCA.

Currently the SPCA’s manager, Barbara has rescued, protected, treated, rehomed, and given second chances – making an immeasurable difference in the lives of countless animals and people.

In the office, she has guided, inspired, and supported staff, volunteers, adopters, supporters, and community members alike. Her impact is simply impossible to measure.

Those who work alongside Barbara know she is always ready for action at a moment’s notice. No challenge is too big; no crisis is too daunting. Barbara is, as her team best puts it, the ‘Leader of the Pack’.

“Leading an SPCA is no easy task. It takes strength, resilience, compassion, determination, and a willingness to face challenges head-on every single day,” the organisation said.

“To lead an organisation for 18 years is a massive achievement. To lead it successfully, helping it grow, thrive, and continue making a meaningful difference in animal welfare, is even more extraordinary.”

Her passion for animal welfare, dedication, and strong leadership have helped shape the Kloof and Highway SPCA into the respected and successful organisation it is today.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have a leader who cares so deeply, works so tirelessly, and inspires us to do our best every day.”

In celebrating this incredible milestone, the SPCA wishes her many more years and extends a heartfelt thank you for leading the pack, championing animals, supporting her team, and never giving up when it matters most.

Happy 18th Anniversary, Barbara!
