This August, over 500 boys from Clifton School will participate in the annual Clifton Challenge, not just for the finish line, but to rewrite the story of a child in need.

Durban, South Africa (28 July 2025) – This August, over 500 Clifton boys will be participating in the Clifton Challenge, an event that has grown to become so much more than about athletics and competition, but a cause that significantly impacts young lives who need all the support they can get.

The high school boys will be covering the kilometres down the Durban promenade on 8 August to support LIV Village, a special home providing love, care, education, and a future to orphaned and vulnerable children across KZN.

“Every Clifton gent who laces up his running shoes will do so not just for the finish line, but to help rewrite the story of a child in need.

“Our goal is to raise R30,000 through once-off donations, or by pledging an amount per kilometre run in the 15km races to meet some of the educational, basic, and sport needs at Liv Village,” Clifton College said.

LIV Village prides itself on family values, teaching each child the importance of family life within a caring home and village community, where all their physical needs are met. Children are guided with core moral values and life skills, enabling them to lead lives that can influence and inspire others, fostering a sense of belonging and purpose, and transforming scars into stars.

This year’s annual Clifton Challenge will serve as a run for hope to support this worthy charity.

“Whether you’re a parent, friend, Old Boy, or member of the greater Durban community, we invite you to be part of this journey, to give generously, to share widely, and to help us run for a purpose,” Clifton appeals.
