Coffee is often used as a vehicle of kindness in South Africa and Globally; recently, a woman and her husband had their faith restored thanks to a coffee.
Sea Point, South Africa (23 December 2021) – During the height of Cape Town’s power outage recently, one woman had her faith in humanity restored. Jean Borgstrom and her husband went out for a much-needed coffee and met both the worst and the very best of humans.
Jean explained that they set off to The Point, and when they arrived at the cafe, they were met by several rude and demanding customers. Jean was horrified to see so many rude people mistreating the staff. It was looking to be a very dark trip to the cafe, but then she met a couple that changed her entire experience.
Jean explained that she and her husband ordered their coffees, and when it came time to pay, the card machine started acting up. A nearby couple offered to help by installing Snapscan on Jean’s phone, so she could easily make the payment.
“However, when we were about to pay there were card issues and a young couple next to us took my phone, loaded Snapscan but then unbeknown to us, paid our bill themselves, and left with “It’s done and have a good Xmas”.
Jean was blown away. She explained that while she had no other details, she did learn they were tourists from inland South Africa, possibly Johannesburg.
“We were smiling and I trust they had a great day after that too. This certainly restored my faith in mankind for the day if not the week.”
Now that is some wonderful news indeed; thank you for sharing, Jean!
