In December EasyEquity community members collectively donated R32 000 to a Good Things Guy charity of choice… which means 160 more families will have food and sanitary packs for the next month!
Johannesburg, South Africa (11 January 2021) – We devote our efforts here at Good Things Guy to promoting amazing organisations making the biggest differences in our country to all our readers but every month we dedicate a space on our platform to one charity, as we try to help get them more exposure.
And in December, 1,365 EasyEquity community members joined our cause and donated R32 000 to Operation Hunger – our December chosen charity!
South Africa’s award-winning online investment platform, EasyEquities, has been running a charitable donation feature off its site that gives investors the option to give as little as R5 to a worthy cause each time they perform a transaction. Since the platform was launched in the early days of lockdown in March, more than 10 000 EasyEquities investors have made over 31 000 donations to charities, ranging from Hospice to the Saartjie Baartman Centre to Cotlands and Yes4Youth.
Every few weeks, EasyEquities announces a new beneficiary. For this round, they asked Brent Lindeque in recognition of all the good he continues to do and the team at Good Things Guy to nominate a worthy cause. Brent immediately chose Operation Hunger, which has been fighting hunger, food insecurity and malnutrition in South Africa for more than 40 years.
“They have been feeding the nation during the lockdown, and continue to do so,” says Brent.
So far there have been 10 non-profit organisations featured on the Donate for Good facility and more than R300 000 has been raised. Think of Donate for Good as the tin canisters you see at the tills of retail franchises – you can donate some change once-off or multiple times. Whatever you can give is appreciated and makes a difference.

Operation Hunger
