Angel's Awful Attack Demands Justice and a Chance for Love

All Angel did was relieve herself on someone’s lawn…and in an instant she was brutally attacked, turning her whole world upside down.

Cape Town, South Africa (08 April 2025) – The heartbreaking story of Angel is a reminder of the cruelty no animal should ever endure.

This stunning Kelpie Mix breed was the victim of a vicious knife attack at the hands of someone who was infuriated that she had relieved herself on his lawn. Though she survived the assault, the trauma resulted in the heartbreaking loss of her family, who, understandably, feared for her safety if she returned home.

Following surgery and medical treatment, she has since been given a chance to heal and recover from the traumatic experience at the Cape of Good Hope SPCA.

The organisation has stressed the need to hold animal abusers, like Angel’s knife-wielding assailant, accountable for their crimes because no dog, or any other living creature, should have to endure such cruelty for any reason.

Comforted in the trusted and loving arms of the SPCA staff, this brave girl is now looking for her forever home where she will hopefully live a safer life with owners who will continue to earn her trust and make their love felt in her life.

“She has come a long way since her admission when she was shy and timid. She’s more trusting of new people now and enjoys spending time with staff and volunteers. She is athletic, lovable and bright,” the SPCA shared.
