An Australian artist is painting shelter animals in an effort to help them find forever homes. And recently, the artist treated one South African pooch to his own canvas treatment out of the kindness of her heart!
Wellington, South Africa (30 May 2025) — A special social media page is dedicated entirely to the artwork of shelter animals! An Australian artist’s passion project, Adopt Me Artwork, is small but growing space that recently featured a South African pooch in need of a place to call his own.
As the Wellington SPCA shares, Adopt Me Artwork (Paige Lloyd) has prepared a gorgeous hand-painted artwork that will come part-and-parcel with the dog in question, a gentleman named Thrice.
“This gift was created by a very talented artist who paints shelter dogs for free—just to help them get noticed,” the SPCA says. “She chose Thrice because he’s our longest resident. Because sometimes, even strangers from far away can see what a treasure we have here.”
Paige is an enormously talented artist whose work often speaks to natural themes. Her Tiger masterpiece, for example, is out of this world (and only her second oil painting ever).

The SPCA furthers that Thrice has waited longer than any of the other dogs to be chosen for a home, so it was extra special for Adopt Me Artwork to choose him.
A kind and clever animal, hopes are high that his portrait captures his essence and lands ups on the right person’s social media pages with a little luck and algorithm favour.
Those interested in adopting or meeting Mr Thrice can get in touch with the Wellington SPCA via 021 864 3726.
