You know a cause is really close to your heart when you’re willing to do something insanely bold (and risky) to fight for it. This year, Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary Founder, Petronel Nieuwoudt, is not just fighting for rhinos on the ground; she’s preparing to defy gravity by walking on the wings of a flying aircraft!
Mpumalanga, South Africa (09 May 2025) – The CEO and Founder of Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary, Petronel Nieuwoudt is taking the boldest and bravest step towards supporting the endangered species.
Petronel has dedicated her life to protecting rhinos, and this year she is preparing to defy gravity by walking on the wings of a plane!
“I’m taking that commitment to the next level—by walking on the wings of a flying aircraft with our UK team!
“I’ll be strapped to the top of a plane, soaring through the sky, all to raise critical funds for Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary. It’s a terrifying challenge, but one I’m willing to take on—because saving rhinos requires you to take every risk,” Petronel shares.
Now, if this is not a declaration of a heart that beats for wildlife conservation we don’t know what is!
At the heart of Petronel’s wing walk is raising funds to ensure Care for Wild can continue rescuing, rehabilitating, and rewilding rhinos who have no one else to fight for them.
It is an undeniably bold and inspiring step toward protecting and saving a species from extinction, and we are rallying behind this champion.
Every contribution helps provide food, medical care, and protection for rhinos in need. To make a contribution, visit Petronel’s JustGiving campaign here.
