Chimp

A chimp dad and his infant were spotted playing aeroplane in the jungle and the internet can’t get enough of their human behaviour.

The Tai Chimpanzee Project’s Primatologist and photographer, Liran Samuni, took some incredible footage of a male chimp playing aeroplane and he even included some turbulance.

The Taï Chimpanzee Project (TCP), is a research group that has been following a group of chimpanzees for the past 30 years. The group are experts in chimp behaviour.

“At present the project is following three habituated neighbouring communities totaling some 100 individuals.

“Each group is followed by a team of several Ivorian field assistants, international research assistants, PhD students and researchers on a daily basis.”

The group are not sure if the chimps in the video are actually related but their interaction is enough to warm even the coldest hearts. We couldn’t stop smiling at the love shared between the two and at the end, when they embraced each other, we nearly melted into a puddle of happy tears.

The World Wildlife Fund hopes that the cute video will highlight the plight to save the chimps in Africa. Their numbers are dwindling due to the bushmeat trade and deforestation.

You can watch the sweet encounter below.
