George the dog had a rough start. Neglected and suffering from mange, he was living a life of sadness before kind humans who saw him for the precious pup he was, helping him turn over a new leaf.

Cape Town, South Africa (07 January 2025) – It’s a hard-knock life for many four-legged pups born into harsh circumstances or homes that cannot recognise, nevertheless value, the unconditional love and sloppy kisses they have to offer.

One could never say that adorable Boxer-Boerboel mix, George, had experienced a life marked by neglect and suffering before finding warmth and never-before-experienced doses of love at TEARS Animal Rescue.

Rescued last October as a teenage pup, George was found severely underweight and battling a severe mange infection. Sadly, his early life had been one of neglect and limited social interaction, leaving him shy and unsure of himself.

However, thanks to the loving care provided by TEARS, George has undergone a remarkable transformation. He has blossomed into a rambunctious and playful boy, full of life and eager to explore the world. His enthusiasm is infectious, especially when he greets you with his signature full-body wag!

As he missed out on socialisation during his puppy stages, George is still learning how to make friends with other dogs.

A playful soul, despite being denied the pleasure in his formative years, this lovable fellow is always on the hunt for cuddles, snuggles and a good game of rough and tumble!

The Cape Town-based animal shelter is currently on the search for a patient and loving home where he can continue to thrive.

If you think could give this furry companion a place to call home, get in touch with TEARS at adoptions@tears.org.za or call 021 785 4482.
