Kenya, Africa – A Kenyan Safari Guide had an extremely close encounter with a curious young hyena.
Hyenas are any feliform carnivoran mammals of the family Hyaenidae. With only four extant species (in three genera), it is the fifth-smallest biological family in the Carnivora, and one of the smallest in the class Mammalia. Despite their low diversity, hyenas are unique and vital components of most African ecosystems.
Recently a Kenyan Safari Guide named David had an extremely close encounter with a young hyena. David was in the Maasai Mara in Kenya, and a young hyena approached his vehicle and seemed to have way more courage than normal animals.
It was an incredible experience for David and the people on his tour who rarely gets to see wild animals this up close and personal.
