A stormwater drain, a desperate pup and a team determined to make a difference – a Security team’s swift and compassionate rescue last Friday proved that heroes come in all forms and their dedication knows no bounds.

Gauteng, South Africa (14 January 2025) – Kindness and the power of going the extra mile were on full display last Friday when EC Security, based in Weltevredenpark, rescued a pup trapped in a stormwater drain. Their heroic efforts highlighted a commitment to safety that goes beyond just protecting people, proving that every life matters.

The story began when EC Security’s offsite monitoring team spotted a dog trapped in a stormwater containment structure, approximately 1.4 metres deep.

Without hesitation, the team sprang into action. Using their advanced technology and heartfelt determination, they located the exact position of the distressed pup and dispatched their team to the site. And their swift response paid off. The dog was safely lifted out of the drain and returned to its family, who had been searching desperately for days. The reunion was emotional, with the overjoyed family expressing immense gratitude for the rescue team’s efforts.

EC Security later shared the heartwarming moment on their social media, where it quickly captured the attention of their followers. Comments flooded in, celebrating the company’s compassion:

“It is clearly apparent that at EC Security their commitment goes beyond serving human life – they care for all life, no matter the challenge. I know as they embark on new chapters, their dedication to compassion and welfare continues to grow, elevating their mission to new heights.”

“Wow, well done EC, proud to be a client!”

Whether it’s safeguarding a neighbourhood or rescuing a furry friend, EC Security continues to show that their mission is built on a foundation of compassion and commitment to the communities they serve.

As for the pup and its family? They’re back together, proving that no challenge is too deep for a team that truly cares.

Well done and thank you, EC Security!
