African Pangolin Working Group is hoping to raise funds through an art event, auction and special talk by Pippa Ehrlich; this is how to join:
Rosebank, South Africa (03 July 2024) – Together for Pangolins is going to be an exciting, informative fundraising event for the African Pangolin Working Group. The event is being hosted at the CIRCA Gallery which is found on Johannesburg’s “Art Mile” and Pippa Ehrlich the Academy Award winning writer and director of My Octopus Teacher, who will be sharing her next project, focussed on pangolins.
The African Pangolin Working Group was established in 2011 and works to protect the pangolin species. Pangolins have been on this earth for 80 million years, and are now on the brink of extinction. The group is made up by committed people who work on various projects to protect the species and ensure its future.
Event attendees will get to enjoy a cup of warming soup around the fire pit along with a delicious autumn harvest table and a welcome glass of wine supplied by Painted Wolf Wines.
“Support our work by taking part in an auction both in person on the night and online. The auction features specially created pangolin artworks from Southern African artists, luxury items and a stay at a private lodge in Timbavati Nature reserve.”
The work see’s pangolins like Kajima, saved from poachers and placed in safe spaces where they can thrive. A handler was assigned to his care and protection, who came directly from the group, and made sure he was ready to be released back into the wild.
