Dolphins and Whales can often be seen off the coast of South Africa, but a Manta Ray sighting is a special treat.
KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa (17 July 2022) – Herveline Tindall captured an incredible sighting of Manta Ray, Whales and Dolphins off the coast of KwaZulu-Natal.
The animal-loving South African was on the water near Umhlanga with her brother-in-law when they spotted the marine wildlife.
Dolphins and Whales can often be seen off the coast of South Africa, but a Manta Ray sighting is a special treat.
“Manta Rays prefer warm tropical waters, so you will find them in the ocean from Mozambique round the South African shores to the Aliwal Shoal off the South Coast of Natal. They do not have a ‘Sting’ at the end of their tales for defence, so it is safe to swim with them.”
