South African content creator surprises the internet with a slowed-down, Zulu-infused twist on Billie Eilish’s ‘When the Party’s Over’.

South Africa (26 November 2025) – South African content creator Sne Dladla is back at it! And this time, he’s reimagining Billie Eilish’s When the Party’s Over. The original track, released as the second single from her 2019 debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, is already known for its emotional depth. But Sne slows it down even further and introduces a distinctly Zulu tone, which creates a version that feels cinematic and unmistakably South African.

Online reactions range from “South Africans took Creative Art seriously in school cause what? ” to “wait, why does this go so hard?” (which, in Gen Z terms, is high praise).

Listeners have been surprised at how naturally Billie’s melancholic vocals blend with a Zulu-inspired rhythm, giving the track a new emotional texture.

And get this, this is nothing new.

Sne has done this with other global hits too such as Smells Like Teen Spirit and a few from Adele and Alicia Keys. Proving that he doesn’t just remix songs, but translates them into something local and relatable.

Sne is building a catalogue that proves that creativity is at its best when nobody sees it coming, because who would thought Billie Eilish would ever Zulu-fied?
