Google Doodle

The Google Doodle has always been a fun distraction from doing actual work! For their 19th birthday, they have brought all the best games back for one day.

Google has launched their birthday celebrations in the most Google way ever! They have created a Google Doodle with a spinner that has some of the best Doodle games from over the years.

All you need to do is click the play button on the doodle and then spin the brightly coloured wheel and wait to see which game you get.

We have just given the Google Doodle surprise spinner a whirl and were given Pac-Man to play. That one was a hit in May 2010.

Aside from Pac-Man, there is also a Birthday Piñata, the Halloween Spells and an Earth Day quiz to name a few. In total there are 19 ways to stay distracted today. Google shared a little of their history about how it all started

In 1997, one of Google’s co-founders, Larry Page, had just arrived at Stanford University to pursue his P.h.D in computer science. Of all the students on campus, Google’s other co-founder, Sergey Brin, was randomly assigned to show Page around. This chance encounter was the happy surprise that started it all.

From there, the two came together with a common goal in mind: to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful, a mantra that would go on to become Google’s mission statement. The two hunkered down in a garage – Google’s first office – and got to work.

19 years later, Google has 4.5 billion users in 160 countries speaking 123 languages worldwide! If you ever get curious about their past doodles, you can check out the archives here.
