First Weekend

South African content creator and sports broadcaster Kuhle “Kooks” Sonkosi hilariously reviews the first weekend of December.

South Africa (15 December 2025) – December is officially in full swing, and the roads are busy as many people make their way home or to holiday destinations. South African content creator and sports broadcaster Kuhle “Kooks” Sonkosi has perfectly captured what that first weekend back home really feels like. This is all through the lens of a classic post-match interview.

In a video that is relatable to many South Africans heading home for the holidays, Kooks treats his return to the Bay as if it were a tough game. He describes a “rough weekend” marked by little sleep, far too many cold ones, and plans to ease into December that clearly never stood a chance.

Using that familiar setup of post-match interviews that sport fans know to well, he reflects on his “performance”. And honestly? Let’s just say it’s difficult to catch up.

Like any athlete searching for redemption after a tough game, Kooks insists adjustments will be made. Sleep is now the priority, running has been introduced into the recovery plan, and the gym is back on the agenda in an attempt to restore balance.
