An unforgettable school assembly turned into a mini concert when a learner moonwalked like Michael Jackson and stole the spotlight.

Midrand, South Africa (09 October 2025) – It’s not every day that a regular school assembly turns into a concert, but that’s exactly what happened at Reddam House Waterfall when one young learner channelled his inner King of Pop and brought Michael Jackson’s legendary moves to life.

In a video shared on Facebook, captioned “Flashback to one unforgettable assembly,” the school introduced its very own Michael Jackson impersonator, and he stole the show. Dressed in the iconic MJ-inspired outfit and complete with long hair, the young performer had the crowd cheering as he moonwalked to the opening beats of Billie Jean.

For a few minutes, the school stage transformed into a concert arena.

These kinds of moments remind us why school talent shows are important. They are opportunities for learners to step outside of academics and showcase the hidden talents that make them unique. From dance and music to comedy, art, and everything in between.

There is something magical about seeing a learner command a stage with confidence, passion, and personality.

Through the moonwalk, the signature glove, or those effortlessly cool MJ moves, this young performer imitated a legend in the best way possible.
