Celebrating Heritage Day with a fun game of This or That, where South Africans pick their favourite things that make South Africa, South Africa…

South Africa (23 September 2025) – In the spirit of Heritage Day, a group of colleagues decided to celebrate South Africa’s rich diversity in a unique and fun way, by playing a round of This or That, local style.

Dressed in everything from Springbok jerseys to Sotho, Xhosa and Swati attire, the team brought their cultures to life while debating the country’s most important questions. Picking their favourite and defending it with passion.

  • Garage pie or samosa? (Someone genuinely asked, “Wait… what’s a garage pie?”)
  • Braaivleis or potjiekos? (All votes for the braai, of course!)
  • Soccer or Rugby? (Bafana Bafana will love this because almost everyone went for soccer)
  • Generations or 7deLaan? (This one really had the office divided. A true test for soapie lovers everywhere.)
  • Magwinya and koeksisters? (Another one that split the office)

And then there was the Gatsby up against Bunny Chow! However, the Cape Town classic only had one colleague passionately defending it.

And finally, some dessert! Calling all those with a sweet tooth for malva pudding or peppermint tart?

It does not matter what you choose. After all, Heritage Day is about honouring where we come from and celebrating what we share together.
