Sakhile Dube from Safari and Surf – Wilderness Adventures was recently filmed sharing the intricacies of clicks within the Zulu language.

St Lucia, South Africa (22 September 2020) – The lockdown meant that guides like Sakhile Dube had to keep busy while waiting for tourism to be allowed again. It was challenging, and everyone is excited to get back to everyday life.

One way that Sakhile kept busy was sharing a video detailing the different clicks in the Zulu language. We first came across a video of him explaining these intricacies a few weeks ago and reached out to find out more about Sakhile.

The video was mesmerising, and we loved hearing the differences of each click — a valuable lesson for any South African or lover of languages.

“Sakhile is our Safari Guide and business partner. He is a Zulu guide and has grown up in KwaZulu-Natal, close to the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. He is very passionate about his job and is a great storyteller, his friends always call him Gogo, because they come to him for advice.

Sakhile Dube is doing all Safari and Surf’s Game Drives and also the Guided Walking Safaris. The lockdown has been a very tough time for Safari and Surf, but we’re very happy to be back in business again!”

We hope that featuring Sakhile will lead to more guests on his game drives so that he can share his passion with South Africans and hopefully soon internationals too!” – Safari and Surf – Wilderness Adventures

Take a look at Sakhile’s excellent clicks lesson below, and if you want to support him, you can reach out to Safari and Surf here.
