Thomas Pesquet is a Euro-French spacecraft pilot at ESA and he is currently on 6-month ISS mission. He has been using his twitter account to share some of the beautiful sights he has witnessed while floating up in space.

Thomas Pesquet is a European Space Agency astronaut of French nationality. He is currently on a six-month mission to the International Space Station. Thomas is serving as a flight engineer for Expeditions 50 and 51, launched in November 2016 and returning in May 2017. He previously worked as an aerospace engineer, and is also an airline pilot for Air France.

He was fortunate enough to experience multiple spacewalks on the international space station. These were to perform maintenance. The work involved installing a computer and relocating a docking station.

Thomas tweeted the image in solidarity to South Africans and wished all a happy Freedom day. As you can all see, we live in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Space doesn’t lie!

Side view! This is us flying around South Africa, on our way from the Atlantic into the Indian Ocean. Happy #FreedomDay! 🇿🇦
