Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer is looking to answer a heartfelt plea from two KwaZulu-Natal hospitals, hoping to provide giant teddy bears to young patients.
KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa (03 March 2025) – Few things compare to the soft comfort of a cherished teddy bear. More than just a stuffed toy, many of us can relate to being gifted one as a child, having it passed down from an older sibling or keeping it on our neatly made beds every morning.
There’s just something soothing about having a teddy bear to clutch onto whenever you need a little comfort in close reach.
Hoping to give many more children this simple pleasure and extra dose of tender loving care, are the volunteers of Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer following a request from two hospitals in KwaZulu-Natal.
“We received a request from one of our KZN hospitals for two new giant teddy bears to help comfort young patients during blood draws and check-ups.
“These cuddly bears will make a big difference in easing their fears and bringing a little joy to their visit,” Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer said.
Many of these children, facing incredibly heartbreaking health challenges due to the complex cancer diagnoses, deserve all the ease and support in the world as they persevere through pain and difficulties that most of us cannot even begin to imagine.
And if a big and soft teddy bear can help alleviate the insurmountable challenges they face day in and day out in the paediatric ward, then this is a great cause to back and will make that world of difference in their little lives!
These cuddly companions will offer much-needed comfort, easing fears and bringing a touch of joy to their difficult hospital visits.
