Anytime between now and October, donating your gently-worn bra could be a symbol of comfort, dignity, and a crucial step toward early breast cancer detection for women in need.
South Africa (12 August 2025) – The ILoveBoobies annual Gently-Worn Bra Campaign is back, and it’s all to promote early breast cancer detection and ensure brave women feel seen and valued.
With 1 in 27 South African women at risk of developing breast cancer, early detection and education are vital.
ILoveBoobies provides free clinical breast exams and awareness drives in underserved communities. Thanks to this campaign, they also restore dignity … one gently worn bra at a time.
SCP Radiology is proud to once again partner with ILoveBoobies for this annual project. From August until the end of October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month), women are encouraged to donate gently-worn bras, which can be dropped off at nine of the radiology branches.
These bras will be gifted to women undergoing screenings with ILoveBoobies, offering both comfort and care.
As an official mammography partner of ILoveBoobies, SCP Radiology will provide free mammograms and ultrasounds to patients referred by the charity throughout the year.
“It’s a simple way to show up for women who need it most,” says Lelani Terblanche of SCP Radiology.
“As a practice that regularly performs breast cancer examinations on women and, with some of our staff being breast cancer survivors, we are only too aware of the importance of regular exams and early detection. Together, we’re not just helping raise awareness, we’re supporting each other.”
Be the reason someone feels seen and valued
To get involved in helping collect gently used bras for women in need, you can visit the ILoveBoobies website, order a Bra Bin online, get listed as an official drop-off point and rally your team, customers, and friends to donate. The ILoveBoobies team will then collect your filled bin after October.
Every bra collected will be gifted to a woman who attends an ILoveBoobies free breast cancer screening, restoring dignity and providing essential support.
