Thousands to join the 2025 SPAR Women’s Challenge Jozi this October, celebrating resilience, community and women thriving, no matter the pace.

Johannesburg, South Africa (29 July 2025) – Thousands of women across Gauteng are dusting off their trainers and getting ready to thrive, together.

The 2025 SPAR Women’s Challenge Jozi returns on Sunday, 5 October, bringing energy, empowerment and community to the streets of Johannesburg once again. Set to take place at the Marks Park Sports Club in Emmarentia, this beloved women-only road running event is more than just a race; it’s a way to give back.

This year’s theme, #Twenty20Thrive, celebrates the strength of women navigating life’s challenges and flourishing in their own unique ways, whether in their careers, personal lives or within their communities. The Challenge forms part of the larger My Jozi My SPAR campaign, which spotlights the incredible ways SPAR supports local women every day.

Open to all fitness levels, the day promises laughter, celebration, and the simple joy of showing up for yourself, for your sisters, and for causes that matter. And to make things even more exciting, one lucky participant will drive away in a brand-new car, just for entering and joining on race day!

This year’s event will support three phenomenal beneficiaries:

  • Reach For Recovery, offering emotional and practical support to breast cancer patients.
  • Leafline, working to end period poverty while promoting sustainability in under-resourced communities.
  • Komani, also fighting period poverty while empowering youth through wellness and education.

SPAR Women’s Challenge ambassador and netball legend Bongi Msomi shared her enthusiasm:

“The SPAR Women’s Challenge is more than just a race, it’s a celebration of women, community, and strength. As someone who’s experienced SPAR’s unwavering commitment to women’s sport, I’m inspired to see how they continue to uplift and empower through events like this.”

Whether you’re walking for wellness, running in memory of someone you love, or simply soaking in the supportive spirit, the SPAR Women’s Challenge Jozi is your invitation to thrive.

Entries are now open at selected SPAR stores across Johannesburg. To find your nearest participating store, visit the website here.
