Through its Joseph Jersey and Pad Princess projects, Kindness Like Confetti is not only tackling real concerns but also making a real difference in the lives of those who need it most.
Johannesburg, South Africa (18 September 2024) – Living up to its name and going above and beyond to spread goodness and support to those in need is the Kindness Like Confetti (KLC) non-profit organisation.
Through two of its ongoing initiatives, the Joseph Jersey and the Pad Princess projects, the KLC team provides warm-knitted clothing and empowers young school girls and women with confidence and dignity.
The Joseph Jersey Project
The dedicated team of Joseph Jersey knitters and crocheters are always busy producing amazing work throughout the year.
The selfless knitters create comfy and colourful beanies for the homeless, cell phone pouches, neck cuffs, shawls, toys, knee rugs, and baby blankets for those in need.
The project has also recently partnered with Mini Miracles and Little Toes Birthing Home in celebration of World Prematurity Day on 17 November.
“We are calling on all knitters and crocheters to help us create teddies, toys, blankets, baby jackets, beanies, and booties for the little warriors — premature babies who need warmth and comfort,” KLC explains.
These handmade items will also offer much-needed support for vulnerable new moms, giving them a sense of care and hope.
The Pad Princess
When girls cannot afford menstrual products, they are often forced to miss school during their periods, leading to academic setbacks.
The KLC’s Pad Princess addresses period poverty by collecting and distributing menstrual products to keep girls in school and giving them their self-confidence back.
Relying on donations, the organisation checks, sorts, and repacks shop-soiled products before distributing them through partner organisations and their school-based programs.
The Pad Princess also supplies pads for Dignity Bags for raped or abused women and new mothers.
These are just two of KLC’s many initiatives that just go to show that even in a world that can sometimes feel cold and indifferent, caring individuals can make a positive difference in the lives of others.
